Goa

We arrived early in the day Tuesday and were initiated into Goan culture by being taught immediately how to drive the moped / scooter / cycle that is used for transportation. We were given a trial run and then we followed each other to the All Nations Centre where we met with some of the church leaders here.
We sang choruses in Hindi and in English, and then got to hear from the leaders (both here and from our team) about what their roles are and how things are going. It was so helpful for everyone to get to know each other and their backgrounds and how we can be working together and praying for each other.

We also did KidzUp ministry in the banana leaf hut in the afternoon. The children are so dear! They loved coloring, we shared a story of Noah and painted their faces or hands and got to get to know them a bit.

Tuesday was a rough day for the team - these experiences I just mentioned were really great, but we were all running on three hours sleep and air travel just prior to arriving, we had some team members who were quite sick, and a motor scooter accident that left Eldon in quite a bit of pain. Many prayers went up from here and home - God is good! We got good sleep that night and yesterday was a great day of resting on the beach and prayer with the team here. Eldon is feeling much better.

Early this morning, some from the team went by bus to Karnataka to see the church there. I am typing this from Cameron & Hephzibah's home - those of us who stayed here in Goa are showing Hephzibah how we bake "chocolate chip cookies"! Minus brown sugar, and with m&ms as our chocolate chips! (still yummy)!

Thank you so much for all your prayers - please pray for the bit of sickness we are still experiencing, and pray that we will have more times of dynamic prayer, relationship and encouragement with the churches here.

Love from Goa!

This is an awesome update. Glad to hear Eldon is feeling better and the rest of the team is feeling somewhat better. I'm praying daily for the team and Praise God for all the wonderful things that are happening in Goa. I'm happy to hear that those "Award Winning" Chocolate Chip Cookies have made their way to India. Sir Oliver has been great. Too cold and windy to step out onto the deck. Yesterday he thought he would but quickly decided not to.

We are making (sort of) Indian food for dinner tonight (tandoori chicken with rice and naan and raita) and praying for you through your sickness and adventures. Love you!
